All right. I'm starting anew.
My ill-fated blog, http://insulare.blogspot.com, i believe was hacked last night by unknown Spanish-speaking lad. If he really is.. Or perhaps using Spanish language was just a diversion tactic to revert suspicions. But who am i supposed to finger-point here?
I'm quite unsure what really happened. Until now i am still puzzled about the misfortune. I learned what happened last night through a friend who informed me via chikka that he cannot locate the blog. He even checked if he typed the right address. I texted him the right address and he said everything was gone and sent me the content of the blog as follows and its translation courtesy of freetranslation.com:
Es tan pequeña que cabe en una gota y queda sitio todavía
translation: It is so small that fits in a drop and remains place still
About the author:
Para los que comer es un placer y diversión, espero no olvidarme de compartir en el blog
translation: For the ones that to eat is a pleasure and diversion, I expect not to forget me to share in the blog
Out of optimism, i did not react violently. Everything has a reason and purpose, right? I know everything i have in the blog was put into waste. I've started it November 8, 2006, which still appears at the wrecked insulare account's joining date and i can't believe ill be starting in scratch again. Today. After winning the weeklong Filipino Blog of the Week struggle.
Well, anyway, i of course tried to recover the blog. I tried to login (using my yahoo login account) but it says that blogger login ID does not exist. Worst, my gmail experienced the same fate. They're nowhere to be found in google accounts. My blogger login ID and gmail account shares the same password. So the last thing I did was to send queries and clarifications about the matter to the blogger admins. I do hope they can still restore my blog.
Now my question, how reliable the blogspot platform is? What is the probability that anyone of you who read this will not be the next victim? Will creating a strong password guarantee that this new account will not be capable for hacking anymore? I did have a strong password, but how come? Of all people, why me?
I don't know. But hey Google, protect us!
