Aerial views of my beloved home, Surigao City.
I was a bit hesitant to post these photos for copyright reasons, but since the city government is doing the promotions using these photos, i thought of selling Surigao too to the rest of the world. The credit goes to the owner of these photos which i think is my boss.
So here it is...
Welcome to the City of Island Adventures and the gateway to Mindanao, Surigao City!
The newly reclaimed portion of the Surigao City port which expansion is intended to cater more logistics and cargo vessels
As you might have guessed it, Surigao City is a coastal place just like any of the cities in the country. Perhaps attributed to the settlement history of the first inhabitants where fishing is the common way of living
Cleanliness is something that the Surigaonons are proud of the city. The past government administrations deserved an applause successfully institutionalizing an ordinance that look after the sanitation and garbage collection of the city.
As of the moment, there are only two high-rise buildings in the city: The Yuipco-Lim Building and Hotel Tavern Surigao. Both piloting the use of elevators in the city.
I can say aerial viewing of the city is a privilege --a privilege you can have when you ride any Cebu Pacific or Airphil flights to city. Not only because of the refreshing sight of the emerald waters bordering the lush mountains but because you are viewing the northeastern tip of Mindanao, which happens to be its gateway to the rest of the island.
Sounds good?

Wow, I think I have missed out a lot for not going to Surigao. I am not a big surfing fan but I have heard so much about your place. Check out the blog of www.bisean.blogspot.com - a well travelled dude who has dreamed of surfing the "Cloud Nine" but only came close to it...
I will definitely push for a vacation to Surigao when I go home on holidays!
You're just helping them to promote your Surigao!
hehe! Nice aerial views... Love it!
I wish I could visit your beautiful Surigao City. I've been to some parts of Mindanao - CDO, Tagoloan, Davao, Mati, Gensan, Valencia, Don Carlos, Maramag, Pagadian, Ozamis,
and Dipolog. I was about to go to Tandag City but it didn't push through.
e asan yung surf JP----parang post ata to. Malapit naba dito yang surfing area na yan? now I know where you live. Pasyal kami dyan minsan ha. ready kana.....kekeke
BTW---you have the aerial shot of your place, meaning me airport na dyan ayt? So mas madali na us makakarating dyan. kekeke
Oh, I didn't know you are from Surigao, and I haven't been there yet. I also didn't know that it is the Surfing Capital of the Philippines. Perhaps, you get lotsa tourist surfers across the shores =)
The aerial view is spectacular and are you back home for good?
The last picture looks nice! Pwede ba magswimming jan? : )
@spool artist.. have checked the bisean site and it was awesome. i am yet to check about that siargao post.
see you in surigao by that time.
@richard.. tengkyu. i guess so. for promotions sake only.
@tom.. i wasnt able to explore the southern part of surigao also. specifically tandag and bislig. they have a lot to offer also and im looking forward for a sooner invasion there.
@tonyo.. the surfing area is in siargao island. yang nasa photo mainland lang yan. yan yung mismong nakakabit sa mindanao island. pasyal lang naman pala eh. igagala ko pa kayo. haha.
dati pa naman may airport dito eh. nagstop lang ng operations but nagresume na ulit. look for my post about pal express.
@bridge.. yep. am back but not to the online world. i am still wired with lots of activities that makes me busy since before our trip to dipolog.
i hope to be back in the circulation the soonest cause im already missing a lot here. never been fully making my rounds in your blog too.
but ill do it as soon as i got my time back.

ive seen this place once in google earth. that was when we were to visit ormoc.
I'll put Surigao and Siargao next on my travel list.
wow superman nice aerial view of your place. basta may problem ka about copyright ako kunin mo lawyer hehehe.
ano bday gift mo? free 4 days 3 nights accomodation ba sa surigao?
The last photo is fab!
@reyna.. hahaha! sssshhh... pag may nagleak, isa lang kapalit: duty free. di ako nagpapabango kaya ok na yung shirts. nyahaha.
if you love island getaways, youll definitely love surigao.
@arweederyet.. thats flattering. thank you for having surigao on your travel list. dont hesitate to approach me should i have something to help. i would be glad to be of assistance.
@maam soy.. the photographer is great. my first time to see the aerial view of our place. and i crave to get a copy thats why i made all the efforts to have one.
