Punta Bilar's Hilltop

Brgy. Punta Bilar being a coastal barangay is endowed with wonderful beaches. The place is already known with that. But what i did not expect and i only found out during my road trip that Sunday afternoon is that they have this spot on top of the hill that is really captivating.

Simply breathtaking, the place is so calm and peaceful and seldom you'll see bypassers. Lucky enough a man went by and so I requested him to take a picture of me looking on the island not far in sight, which according to him is Southern Leyte. Quite close eh? I stayed there till sunset taking on my boy bawang and diet coke goodies.

At the back of this spot is a lighthouse.

And on the shore below the view is the rock fence installed by residents to trap fishes who wanders on it during high tide and did not manage to escape during low tide.

I was thinking, days from now as many will slowly discover the place, i'll be able to see families or friends having picnic in there. As what I'm considering to do there too with my friends. Or if not, i wont be surprised if a new house will be built here.

But what really surprised me is the presence of this restaurant. Erected all alone, far from the barangay's central district. What the heck this restaurant is doing in a non-strategic place? It was even empty when i got there. But when i was able to talk to the owner, who used to be an OFW from England, she said most of her customers are foreigners who bothered going there just to experience the serene environment. Well, if your customers have this dollars, it somehow makes sense.

And underneath is this beach where perhaps when her customers are done with dining, the beach is surely the next best thing.
